When the doctor turns into an administrator
Instead of reducing bureaucracy, to provide more time for patient care, the time put into administrative paperwork remains exceptionally high for resident doctors and clinicians alike. Clinicians state that they spend two hours on average for administrative paperwork each day. Resident doctors also struggle with a comparable workload. In Germany, the National Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians have developed the Bureaucracy Index (BIX), which quantifies the cost of administrative tasks for practicing physicians and physiotherapists. Although the Index has slightly dropped in recent years, it corresponds to an annual working time of approximately 52 million hours or 57 net working days per practice in 2016. It is hardly surprising that many doctors do their administrative paperwork in their leisure time or while on holiday.
A solution for this flood in paperwork
seca’s long company history does not only focus on the development and manufacturing of accurate and reliable measuring instruments to benefit patients. seca has also worked towards offering the best possible support for medical personnel to help simplify their daily tasks. We’d like to introduce to you one such development: seca 360 ° wireless.
This new technology allows compatible devices to communicate wirelessly and send data to a radio printer or computer. There, the data can be easily implemented to an existing patient data management system (PDMS) using the seca emr flash 101 software. This process has obvious advantages: seca 360 ° wireless reduces time and effort spent on documentation and allows for error-free data transmission. The additional software, seca analytics 115, is used for diagnostic support and helps to assess the patient’s health and nutritional status.
The use of seca 360 ° wireless devices will allow for more effective use of your working time. With optimized processes and consequently the reduction of paperwork, they help free up more time for a doctor's primary task- to treat their patients.
