The seca mBCA 525 wins the renowned Good Design Award 2015
"With this revolutionary design we also wanted to honor the technical investments behind the development of the measuring unit," says Frederik Vogel, CEO Development & Manufacturing. The contracted design agency open fields Garthoff & Rhein GbR of Hamburg was responsible for designing its appearance. "Form follows function" was a guiding principle for the world innovation comprised of a monitor and measuring mat and this is expressed through innovative materials, smart cable management, and the sophisticated user guidance. Frederik Vogel: "Outstanding products always stand out due to a very original design so we wanted to conceive of a design vocabulary that will last for a long time."
The seca mBCA 525 is a mobile body composition analyzer with medically validated precision. Each bioelectrical impedance analysis shows the relationship between muscles, fat and body water. This gives doctors a well-founded insight into the body and is a good aid for diagnosis and therapy control.
The Good Design Award is the world's oldest design award and was initiated by the architects Eero Saarinen, Ray and Charles Eames, and Museum of Modern Art curator Edgar Kaufmann, Jr. The Good Design Award has been an international mark of innovative design for 60 years. High-quality products with impressive form, function, and aesthetics are honored with the award. Several thousand manufacturers and companies from over 47 countries submitted competition entries.
