The Hamburg medical engineering convention at seca
On September 29, the HAMEK took place at seca’s headquarters in the Hamburg district Wandsbek for the third time. This year the symposium was held in front of almost twice the amount of participants than the year before. The event began on the evening before, for participants, exhibitors and speakers to get to know one another and chat in a relaxed atmosphere in the Gröninger Brewery.
On the occasion of the recently updated EU act on medicinal products, the event was themed ‘Safe medicinal technology in hospitals.’ The presentations emphasized medicine product laws, medicine technology management as well as security, risk and quality management. The early lectures in the morning concentrated on the upcoming EU act and informed participants about future requirements and improvements in medicinal technology that would change through the altered laws. In the afternoon, medicine technology management and economical aspects, as well as safety, risk and quality management issues were discussed. Here, there was a special emphasis on CIRS systems. In between expert talks, participants were able to walk around the seca premises and were offered insights into the on-site development and production of seca products. The accompanying industrial show was made up of booths by seven selected exhibitors which presented news and innovations in medicinal technology.
This year’s HAMEK was a complete success and in all ways trumped last year’s event by far. More than 90 visitors participated in the congress, lectures and seminars, held by eight speakers. To live up to the high demand, next year’s HAMEK event will take place in a larger location at seca on September 19, 2017. We expect up to 300 visitors and 30 exhibitors to actively exchange information and knowledge on interesting topics around medicinal engineering.
